Megalo Chorio, attached to the mountain, overhanging the ruins of the citadel, is located in the middle of Tilos,15 kilometers from Livadia. After being deserted by a large number of its habitants (the abandoned houses left as ruins today confirm this), Megalo Chorio has found in the past recent years the return of a typical Greek village with its houses painted in white with blue doors and shutters. The one and only family taverna offering an exceptional view of the valley, the village cafe and the incredible bar Ilakhati at the summit of the village are the sole places for an outing in Megalo Chorio. The grocery store in the entrance to the village is worth seeing: a real Ali Baba caverne where you will be astonished by what you find.
